The Portico Project at Id-Dar tal-Providenza features in a new book on Contemporay Architecture in Malta
The Portico Project at Id-Dar tal-Providenza — now Misraħ San Giovanni XXIII – designed by architects Galea&Galea, is one of fifteen projects spotlighted in a new book on contemporary architecture in Malta.
The launching of the “Contemporary Architecture in Malta” by Prof. Conrad Thake took place on Tuesday, 4th October 2016, at the Chamber of the Parliament Buildings presided by the Hon. Dr Anġlu Farrugia, Speaker of the House of Representatives. Publication is by the Kite Group.
‘Contemporary Architecture in Malta’ features a detailed exposition of the fifteen projects, ranging from private residences, public commercial and office buildings, military and infrastructural projects to a meditation chapel set within a contemplative semi-private garden complex.
Each project is well documented, through extensive photography and architectural drawings. Conrad Thake, provides the reader with a lucid appraisal and analysis of each project.
Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza and Architects Audrey and Anthony Galea were present for the book launch.
