Special Celebration in honour of St Isidore “The Farmer”
The feast of St Isidore “the Farmer” was celebrated on May 15th in our chapel at Id-Dar tal-Providenza. He is the Patron Saint of Madrid, where his tomb lies in The Cathedral but also the Patron of “The St Isidore Agricultural Centre,” here at our Home in Siġġiewi. The Offertory Gifts during the Mass celebrated by Fr Trevor Fairclough were all food products and herbs produced in our Agricultural Centre. In this centre many quality food products are produced by our Residents under the watchful care of their Ability Promoters.
St. Isidore the Farmer died in 1130. He is known in Spain as one of the “Five Saints” along with Saints Ignatius of Loyola, Francis Xavier, Teresa of Avila, and Philip Neri,
