Id-Dar tal-Providenza and the grotto of Our Lady at December 13th Road in Marsa

The annual pilgrimage and Holy Eucharist at Our Lady’s grotto in December 13th Road in Marsa this year took a special significance. Besides the activities going on commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the founding of Id-Dar tal-Providenza by Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi, it was the same Dun Mikiel that in 1981, the year dedicated to persons with special needs, celebrated the first Mass at the grotto.

On Friday (8th May), Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza concelebrated Mass at the grotto with friars from the Holy Trinity Parish. At the end of the ceremony, Mr Joseph Vella, curator of the grotto, presented €1,700 to Fr Martin.
