Dar tal-Providenza: A celebration of love and endearment.

Auxiliary Bishop Mgr Joseph Galea-Curmi this morning celebrated mass from the chapel at Dar tal-Providenza. He said that the Home is a celebration of love and endearment with a strong message for all. He mentioned three aspects of this message the first one being the acceptance of life from its conception without anyone deciding whether it should be allowed to live or to be discarded. The second celebration is that of inclusion where every human being feels fully part of society and lastly a celebration of solidarity with persons of disability who are in dire need of support. All these are synonymous with the Dar tal-Providenza founded by Mgr. Mikiel Azzopardi 57 years ago.

Bishop Galea-Curmi pointed out that we should always be an instrument of peace rather than strife and and we relay the love of God to others. He prayed that there will be many workers in the field of the Lord who will respond to his call and spread the Good News with lots of love, gentleness, compassion and always with great respect towards life and the dignity of all.

The mass, assisted also by Fr Martin Micallef, Director of the Home, was attended by residents, support workers and employees.

Prior to the mass Bishop Galea-Curmi met and chatted with the players taking part in the Volleyball Marathon in aid of Dar tal-Providenza that got under way Friday evening and will end tonight at midnight.
