A showcase for Id-Dar Tal-Providenza residents in the heart of Valletta
The Minister for the Family and Social Solidarity, Ms Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, officially opened an office that id-Dar tal-Providenza now has in 244 St Paul Street in Valletta just behind the old market. The office, that was blessed by the Archpriest of St Paul’s Parish Mgr Alex Cordina, has been opened on the occasion of the Foundation Day of the Home that occurred on September 12th 1965.
Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, said that the idea behind the Valletta office is for the general public to have a central office from where it can get all the information about the Home’s work and activities and make a donation if anyone so wishes. The office is to serve also as a place where the Home’s residents can exhibit their works and wares and serve as well as an inclusion opportunity and job exposure as every day there will be a resident together with the volunteers who will be running the office.
Minister Coleiro Preca thanked id-Dar tal-Providenza for being a living example on what needs to be done on social inclusion. She emphasised that this office is a big step for Id-Dar tal-Providenza that now has the opportunity to showcase the abilities of its residence in the heart of Valletta.
