Construction of a new and modern therapeutic pool at Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
Works are in an advanced stage on the construction of a new and modern therapeutic pool at Id-Dar tal-Providenza in Siġġiewi. This is being built on the same site where Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi had constructed a similar pool in Villa Papa Ġiovanni that was inaugurated on the 19th of March 1974.
This therapeutic pool is being constructed by the Italian firm A-Circle Habilitation Concept that has wide experience in this sector. In actual fact, this company has built three hundred similar pools in different areas around the world. Maltese architect John Papagiorcopulo is responsible for this new project and is being assisted by engineer Anton Cutajar.
The use of hydrotherapy will be another service on offer at Id-Dar tal-Providenza. This will continue to improve on the quality of life of its residents. Hydrotherapy will be promoting mobility as well as opportunities for sporting activities for persons with disability. These opportunities build confidence but, just as important, is the feeling of well-being when one is immersed in warm water. It is relaxing, even in cases were exercising is quite difficult for the disabled person.
