€ 5,216.14 raised during ‘WALK CYCLE RUN’ in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza
More than five hundred people took part in last Sunday’s “Walk, Cycle, Run” and raised a total of €5,216.14 in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza. Amongst those taking part were the Acting President, Mrs Dolores Cristina, the Archbishop Mgr Charles J. Scicluna, the Labour Party’s Deputy Leader, Dr Toni Abela, the Leader of the Opposition, Dr Simon Busuttil and a number of personalities and politicians from both sides of the House of Representatives.
Besides the walk from the main square of Siġġiewi, there was a run from the church’s square in Żurrieq, others rode their bikes from the Cathedral Square in Mdina after the blessing of Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona OP and other rode their motorbikes from the Luxol Grounds in Pembroke. On their arrival at Id-Dar tal-Providenza they attended a Mass celebrated in the parking lot of the Home.
