€5,000 donation by the The Maleth Sinfonia Keyboard Orchestra to Id-Dar tal-Providenza
Mro. Chev. Mark Agius, Director of The Maleth Sinfonia Keyboard Orchestra presented a cheque for Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza. This was half the proceeds of the concert ‘An Evening of Magical Music from the Animated Classics’ which was held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre last March. Another €5,000 was presented to Ms Connie Richards, Head of Helen Keller Resource Centre.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony held at the Helen Keller Resource in Qrendi, Mro. Chev. Mark Agius thanked all who supported the concert which was a great success with attendance being close to a full house. He said that these donations will be used to support the building of a multi-sensory garden in both institutions.
Fr Martin Micallef and Ms Connie Richards thanked The Maleth Sinfonia Keyboard Orchestra for this generous donation and congratulated them for their success.
The Maleth Sinfonia is Malta’s first and unique Keyboard Orchestra. It is made up of fourteen keyboards and five percussions replicating the sound of a full Orchestra and brought together some of the most talented musicians and singers our island has to offer. Also taking part were the dancers and the choir from the Stagecoach Theatre Arts School, the Marie Therese Vassallo Voice Studio, the Paul Curmi Dance Company together with other guest singers and special guests Marie Therese Vassallo, Gianluca Bezzina and siblings and Ian J. Vella.
